Be Clean and Hygienic

As children, no doubt, you love to disobey the rules of cleanliness and hygiene that your parents and teachers try to teach you. But just think for a moment about the millions of hapless children in this world who don’t have such good homes and families as you have, such a clean and hygienic environment and life as you have. Just think of the diseases and disabilities that make their lives miserable. If you do so, you are sure to understand the importance of maintaining good health. It isn’t anything so difficult to build healthy and clean habits, but to suffer the consequences of not having built any such good habits will surely be too difficult to bear. Let’s take a look at what you can do to keep yourself and your environment clean and hygienic.

The habit of staying clean begins with bathing daily and wearing neat and tidy clothes. Wash your hands before and after meals, after using the toilet and bathroom, after touching an animal, bird or insect, etc. Cut your nails regularly to keep them free from dirt and bacteria. Brush your teeth twice a day and keep them strong and healthy. Avoid eating junk food and food that’s been kept in open air for long. Use garbage bins and wastebaskets and keep your room and surrounding always neat and clean. Keep your study materials and playthings always free of dust and dirt, and in order. Always try to learn more and more about the importance of cleanliness from your teachers and other elders, from books and from the Net. The more you care for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in your life the healthier and happier your life will be.
